Your neighborhood ICE agents, that's who. It seems that my previous posts about fast food being one of the many jobs Americans won't do, is true in Delaware as well. Either that or the greedy plantation owners in Delaware are just like the ones in Columbus, Indiana. They can't make enough money, so they hire illegal immigrants to fill the coffers even faster. Here are some select tidbits to chew on.

"...Some of the workers arrested are recent immigrants who came to the U.S. within the past five years looking for work. Minimum-wage restaurant jobs were about the only thing the women could get."

Ok, here we go with the obfuscation and lies. They are not "recent immigrants", they are recent illegal immigrants!

"The Mexican consulate could not be reached for comment Thursday."

And the Mexican Consulate has what exactly to do with this situation? Are they the responsible party for bringing these invaders here? I say fine them a million bucks per illegal arrested. If they want to be involved, then by all means, give them their wish.

""As you can imagine, families are living in fear, and this has brought a situation that no one really wants in the state," Gonzalez said. "We understand the law needs to be respected, but by the same token, these individuals come for economic reasons, just looking for opportunities to advance."

Actually many of people in the state do want this so-called "situation". They are called citizens, and they are sick and tired of wave upon wave of illegal immigrants taking jobs, spitting on the law, and sucking the lifeblood out of the economy. It makes no difference why they came here. Why is Mexico's utter failure as a nation somehow our responsibility to repair?

I saved the best for last. If you are easily sickened by tripe, or have a tendency to bleed from your eyes when provoked; use caution.

I'll translate for those that don't speak "open borders". It means that they will not stop invading our country, taking our jobs, killing our citizens, bankrupting our hospitals until they get what they want: AMNESTY!

I am still hoping for a raid soon in Columbus. Talk about headlines! They could easily break the record for the largest raid, but I seriously doubt ICE has the resources to raid all the local employers of illegal labor at one time. I can safely say though, that they have quite a few choices of places to begin.

According to the Dayton Daily News, our immigration system is in tatters. Their proof? Armondo Mondragon. He's just a hard-working family man, trying to make it in the Gem City. He got nabbed by the "Sheriff Joe" of the midwest, Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones. Mondragon was driving without a license and his vehicle had no rear license plate. Oh, and then there's the small fact that he is an illegal immigrant.
According to the Dayton Daily News, Mondragon's "wife", who is also an illegal immigrant, is concerned that he may be deported. Wow. Let me see if I get this. You and your husband break United States immigration laws, traffic laws, state laws, and you are worried that you might get deported? Ok. Let me break it down for you. You knew that entering the United States illegally was a crime punishable by deportation. You chose to come anyway. Now you want us to feel sorry? You took the chance and lost. Try it again from the back of the line.
This quote speaks volumes..."Most, they say, came for the same reason that immigrants have traditionally come here: economic opportunity and the chance to give their children a better life."
First of all, the Dayton Daily News lumps illegal immigrants in with those who obey our laws to come to America. It's a slap in the face of the millions who came here legally. Then they use the "better life for their children" clause to tug at the heart strings. Mondragon and his "wife", (they are not legally married either) have five, count 'em, five children, all born in the US. Dandy. They are poor examples to use when using the "better life for their children" clause. Why? Because they did not bring their children to America in search of a better life; they made the children after they illegally entered the country. They know the drill. Crank out an anchor baby or five, and you will have the sympathy of bleeding heart judges and newspapers, nationwide. Plus our court's twisted interpretation of the 14th Amendment grants these children instant citizenship, and all the public assistance that goes with it.
I just wonder how our immigration system became "tattered"? I wonder who gets to shoulder the blame? I do know who shoulders the financial burden though; you and I.

The best excuse ever!

This one almost takes the cake! 59 illegal immigrants were arrested in a raid Tuesday in Asheville, NC. You will simply love to hear what job "Americans won't do" that these invaders were doing. And the excuse offered by the plantation errrr...company that "employed" them is even better.
These illegal immigrants were not picking tobacco, lettuce, or even tomatoes. They were...wait for it...the horrible, tedious, back-breaking work that no American on earth would do was...ya ready for this? Working for a parachute manufacturer which supplies parachutes to the United States military. You read that correctly. A large group of foreign nationals, with no legal right to even be in the country, were making the parachutes that our service members rely on to keep them from a sudden and violent death.
I'm so dumbfounded I can't think. Oh yeah, the company's excuse was that they were "duped" by the false ID's that the illegals used to get hired. That's the latest excuse that these scumbag companies use when they get caught with slave labor. "Oh, those tricky little rascals fooled us with fake ID's."

Mexico is calling the kettle black. They are fining US drivers for crossing the border to fill their tanks with cheaper diesel fuel. I am in no way justifying American citizens breaking Mexico's laws; I am simply pointing out the flagrant, blatant, and glaringly obvious hypocrisy. Mexico is a failed, socialist, narco-state. They encourage their citizens to illegally enter to United States and suck the lifeblood from our economy. They then have the gall to fine US citizens for buying more diesel than they should. Read this article and see if you can prevent the blood from shooting straight out of your eyes. Have cotton gauze handy.

MEXICO CITY — A Mexican border city has begun fining U.S. drivers who cross the border to fill extra drums, tanks or barrels with government-subsidized Mexican fuel.
The city of Ciudad Acuna, across the border from Del Rio, Texas, said Friday that it fined four U.S. residents for carrying extra diesel and would impound their cars until they pay. The fines equal 70 percent of the value of the diesel confiscated.
U.S. drivers can fill up their own vehicles, but carrying extra fuel containers back across the border violates customs regulations and possibly safety rules, a report from the city said.
Mexico, one of the world's top 10 oil producers, sells diesel fuel domestically at subsidized prices of about $2.25 per gallon, about half the U.S. price.
Mexican filling stations near the U.S. border have seen an increase in American drivers who cross over to fill up. Mexican truckers and drivers complain the run on fuel is causing temporary shortages and longer lines for them.

I have an idea for our own useless and pandering government. How about we fine Mexico 1 million dollars for every illegal immigrant that we catch? Then we calculate how much that illegal immigrant cost the United States in public services such as health care, welfare, lost tax revenue etc. and multiply that total times 100. And for added incentive to cities like Columbus, that have unwritten sanctuary policies; have 50% of the fines collected go to the city where the illegal was captured. I figure that would get the message across quite clearly, to all parties.
One last word to all the Mexican truckers that are complaining. Your countrymen who are making "the run" on our borders are causing long lines in our emergency rooms, welfare offices, and unemployment agencies. We'll stop when you do.

I reported on Monday http://illegalcrimes.blogspot.com/2008/08/somethin-aint-jivin.html on a story that The Republic printed, about suspects arrested after a high speed chase. Well today, the truth comes out! I applaud The Republic for printing the truth. The suspect arrested was identified as Guillermo Amaro-Hernandez. Actually the suspect is wanted on a felony warrant for child molestation in Jackson County. His name is Pablo Vivermos and he is an illegal immigrant! Now I won't go pointing any fingers...wait, strike that, yes I will! This is the very reason why I believe that Mayor Armstrong, the Columbus Police Chief, and Sheriff Gorbett are being derelict in their duties. Scumbags like Vivermos should not be in the country in the first place, but when they are arrested and no one asks about immigration status, the authorities are guilty of abetting illegal immigrants. As I said in the first post about this story, the don't ask, don't tell policy is bad, and will result in serious consequences. Vivermos was released on bond after 48 hours, but a suspicious Sheriff, Sgt Jimmy Green kept up the investigation. Vivermos had multiple ID's when arrested. Great job Sgt Green!
Vivermos was arrested at his job in Columbus. Imagine that! It was as if he was not the slightest bit concerned that his true identity and the warrant would be discovered. I will get to the bottom of his place of employment if at all possible. They will join my list of local businesses that I will never again patronize. His employer knew or at least had a clue that Vivermos was an illegal immigrant, and chose to employ him anyway; making sure to protect his bottom line by keeping labor costs low. Disgusting.
Mayor Armstrong and Sheriff Gorbett, you must contact ICE and begin participation in the 287(g) program! Columbus is hurtling down the same path as San Francisco, with it's sanctuary city policies. Please reverse course. It's not too late.

Visiting? Really? Kinda like the burglar is simply visiting your house? Just "borrowing" some things? Riiight.
"Large numbers of Hispanic immigrants are moving from areas hostile to illegal immigrants to places where the laws are laxer."
Places like Columbus, Indiana I suppose. But we don't have an illegal immigration problem here. I now know why; they are "just visiting".
"Once again, Latino America is on the move."
Should read: Latin America is on the move. As in moving into the US in ever increasing numbers. I am sick to death of the implication that illegal immigrants are Americans. They are not and should never be; until they return to their third-world cesspool and get in the back of the line.

Here's a clue for the clueless. Congress tried to jam amnesty down our unwilling throats 4 times, and we, the people said NO. The federal government is paralyzed because of it's inability to do the will of the people, which elected them.

For those who have not had the distinct displeasure of dealing with people like him; he's in the same boat as the mortgage lenders who sell people things they can't afford. He preyed on the unsuspecting and the uneducated; and now complains that his pool of suckers is drying up. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they were selling cars to people with stolen identities and no driver's licenses.

Farming and business groups maintain that they wouldn't be able to run their operations without illegals. Wow! That's a pretty clear self-indictment if I ever saw one. These modern-day plantation owners are freely admitting that they use illegal labor, and that it's "necessary". I bet the plantation owners of the past said the same things about the African slaves they used. What happened after the slaves were freed? Did farming end? Did the nation starve to death because there were no more people to harvest and plant crops? HMMM?
I've saved the best for last. It seems that the Plantation Owner's Association is fit to be tied. They are threatening to leave the US if they can't keep their slaves. Here it is in their own words...

Somethin' aint jivin'

Headline in The Republic: "Hope man flees law at 100 mph". Sounds like a typical police chase story, right? I thought so as I started reading the article.
In a 7 paragraph story, I had to read all the way to the 5Th paragraph to find out the driver's name; Guillermo Amaro-Hernandez. Charges filed: DUI, reckless driving, public intoxication, and resisting law enforcement. His passenger, Irvin Gomez was also arrested. He was charged with public intoxication.
Hernandez is being held on a $45,000 bond, while Gomez was released on $10,000 bond.
This is where things start to get weird. I checked the arrest reports, taken from the police blotters. According to the story, the arrests occurred at 2:17 a.m. According to the police blotter, several pages after the story, Hernandez was arrested at 9:32 a.m. Maybe that's the time he was booked into the jail, but it clearly says "arrests". To further the mystery, the blotter says that Gomez was arrested at 4:06 a.m. and was charged with DUI aaaaaaand driving without ever receiving a license! So who was really driving, and why the discrepancy in the report? Simple oversight perhaps, on the part of The Republic? The world may never know. One thing that I can almost guarantee we won't ever read; the immigration status of the perps. Why, you ask? Because The Republic has a strictly upheld policy of not reporting immigration status until it becomes part of the court record. It only becomes part of the court record if the police and sheriff bother to run an immigration check; which they don't because, according to the mayor; we don't have an illegal immigration problem in Columbus.
Don't ask. Don't tell. See no illegals, hear no illegals, speak no illegals.

Ignorance of the law?

I have a great distaste for lawyers who try to mitigate criminality with situational ethics. Case in point: The Postville, Iowa meat-packing plant raid in May netted hundreds of illegal immigrants. It caused a major stir in the media for a (typical) short time. Now the bleeding-heart, open borders lawyers are gearing up for law suits relating to the case. I can fully understand people yearning for a better life for themselves and their families. I cannot, however, agree with violating the law to achieve those ends. This is the crux of the illegal immigration problem. Illegal immigrants break the law as their first act upon entering the United States. Thereafter, they break more laws by acts such as driving without a license, identity theft, fraud etc. One of the lawyers in the case had this tasty bit of lawyering to offer: "When you think of identity theft, what you really want to target is somebody getting credit cards in your name, ruining your credit, using your name to commit crimes, things of that nature." Very interesting! So taking another person's identity to get a job under false pretenses is not committing a crime in another person's name? Sure coulda fooled me.
These Guatemalans must be a stupid lot according to this snippet: "In fact, one of the translators at the court proceedings has said the mainly Guatemalan immigrants he encountered had no idea what a Social Security card was — let alone that the numbers on it belonged to real people." Riiight. There are huge networks of people working night and day stealing identities and providing them to illegal immigrants. See the previous post about the McDonald's franchisee for evidence.
It's not going to get any better folks, until we stand up for what is right and throw out the sorry politicians which refuse to do the will of the people, and uphold the rule of law.

The usual laundry list of charges were evident. Identity theft, issuing false identification, using multiple SSN's etc. Oh how I wish ICE would conduct a raid here in Columbus! I have reasonable suspicion that McDonald's across from Target has multiple illegal immigrants working there. I can say this because of the vehicles they are driving. I see the employees coming and going from work in cars with Ohio and Kentucky license plates. It's well known that illegals go to states with "easy" DMV's to work their fraud magic. Another glaring indication is that inability of these people to speak English. I didn't fall of the lettuce truck yesterday! If you are late-teens, early-20's and can't speak English; I'm gonna bet you are in the country illegally. Last time I checked, McDonald's required proof of education, such as diploma or GED. If you are a graduate from one of our esteemed houses of learning, you should have shown at least a smidgen of ability in the English language. Am I wrong?

"Circular Migration"

According to Laura Hurt, Diversity Director at Columbus Regional Hospital, America should allow and encourage "circular migration". She also wants to ensure that her employer and the rest of the hospitals in Indiana continue to give free health care to illegal immigrants. Basically she wants open borders that allow anyone, especially those from her home country of Mexico, to come and go as they please; never having any loyalty to the United States. Maybe Madelina Rodriguez was simply on her way from Ohio back to Mexico? I just don't know...Why was she at an industrial park? Visiting friends or relatives that work there? The Republic wouldn't say, but they mentioned that the police didn't have an address for her. She was not arrested, charged or inconvenienced in any way I suspect, since The Republic did not report it. Hey, we all know that they report all the facts, right? HMMM.
On a similar note, a man with the same last name caused an accident on July 3rd by driving the wrong way on US 31. Saul Rodriguez was suspected of DUI after he hit another vehicle head-on.

This story today makes me think that the suspect might have "circular migrated" back to Mexico. Someone call the Border Patrol.

Jose Mansilla, 20, and Avenamar Lopez, 43, both of Columbus, were treated and released from Columbus Regional Hospital following the incident at 3:30 a.m. Friday in the apartment of Santiago Islas, 26. “The suspect was armed with two machetes, did signifi - cant damage to the apartment and took several swings at two of the men,” said Lt. Joe Richardson, public information officer for Columbus Police Department. The men said they did not know the suspect and did not provide a description, Richardson said. Islas had fought with the suspect at 27th Place in the Village Apartments complex before returning to his apartment. The suspect arrived at Islas’ apartment and stabbed Mansilla in the back of the leg and lower back. He also slashed Lopez on the wrist, Richardson said. “We’re very fortunate this didn’t end more tragically than it did and there were only minor injuries,” Richardson said. Lopez was arrested on a failure to appear charge and is being held without bond at Bartholomew County Jail. "

700 arrests in a single raid! More please! I hope ICE has similar success when they send their teams to Columbus. Funny how we always hear that these illegals are vital to do "the jobs Americans won't", like picking lettuce and tomatoes, but the raids always seem to happen at places like meat packing plants and construction sites. Don't we always hear that these illegals just want to obey the law and take care of ther families? If that's the case, then why are they stealing identities and using fraud to accomplish their lofty goals?

Breaking news today! Bob Gustin has been given the job of Editor. He said some words pertaining to integrity and stuff and then he told the public that he has "an open-door policy". Really? I'm still waiting for a response to my last 2 emails...maybe I sent the email prior to the open-door policy taking effect? I'll give it another shot after I call my "sources" at the Jackson County Jail for an update.

I just spoke to the nice folks at the Jackson County Jail, and they informed me that the alleged child molester, Jose Pichiya AKA Cesar Garcia is now on an ICE hold. Bob, you are slipping! I thought that your policy was to report immigration status if and when it becomes part of the record? When the Federal Government tells the jail to hold a person, it's for good cause. Better tell your crack team of reporters to get the latest info, so that you can abide by your employer's policy! The Republic: Integrity, FAIL, Honesty, FAIL, Accountability, FAIL.

On April 30, I posted about my belief that our hometown newspaper, The Republic (talk about ironic names!) was intentionally omitting key facts in stories involving potential illegal immigrants. Well, my belief has been confirmed as fact. As some may have heard Mario Cadena, an illegal immigrant in Lake county, Indiana, caused a 3 car crash that killed himself and 3 innocent people. The sordid story is one that is all too often repeated when illegal immigrants are involved. Multiple DUI's, multiple arrests, multiple times caught driving without a license. Each and every time this illegal got to plead his case down, and felony charges never stuck. The classic "catch and release" program for our invaders from the south. Well to get to my point, The Republic ran a summary of the story on their website and darned if I found absolutely no mention of the FACT that Mario Cadena was in the country illegally! Oh they included all the tasty tidbits about the rest of his long criminal history, but somehow couldn't find the space to include that Cadena was an illegal immigrant. Bob Gustin should be fired for violating the very policy he was so quick to quote to me. Hey Bob, Cadena's status as an illegal immigrant was part of the court record! It's time to self-terminate as managing editor, you FAIL!

I have a suspicious streak a mile wide. I rarely accept a story from the media without first shining the light of "do they have an agenda" on the story. Well, I have been very suspicious of The Republic, the Mayor and local law enforcement, as this blog indicates. I finally had a gut full of suspicion and emailed Bob Gustin, the Managing Editor of The Republic. I asked him why The Republic, unlike most major newspapers, does not report the immigration status of suspects. I got a reply dripping with "how dare you even ask." He said "We report immigration status of defendants if and when it becomes part of the court record. If immigration charges are filed, we report that. We have no way of telling the immigration status of arrested individuals unless formal charges are filed or it is part of the court record. Thanks for your interest."
Gee, how stupid of me! Now I know the reason I never see immigration status reported, The Republic rarely runs follow-up stories for less than capital crimes.
I eagerly searched today's article about Jose Pichiya AKA Cesar Garcia http://www.therepublic.com/ , an alleged child molester being held in the Jackson County Jail. He is accused of molesting the 8-year old daughter of his girlfriend. That basically Sums up the story run by The Republic. My suspicious hairs were standing tall. I called the Jackson County Jail and spoke to a wonderful lady about the immigration status of Mr Pichiya/Garcia. She told me that he is from Guatemala and that an investigation is underway for possible deportation.

As the local Columbus readers know, Cummins Inc. has had a record run of profit the last several years. This is good for the local economy as well as the employees because they still have jobs. Today's article in The Republic once again sang the praises of the great and powerful Cummins. Company president Joe Loughrey said much in the article about the future growth of Cummins, but what was NOT said directly was the real meat of the article.
He started by using the typical globalist jargon: "..changing dynamics of globalization and being able to attract the best talent." This is code speak for outsourcing. He is trying to let us down softly. The loss of these US jobs is inevitable. The article goes on to say "...Cummins has to adopt the right strategy to take advantage of changing global market forces". Like I said, job loss is coming. Of the uncultured and ignorant American people Loughrey said "...but they are missing that big Chinese and Indian companies are making products and shipping them all across the globe." Oh really? Gee I hadn't noticed that Walmart is filled to the rafters with Chinese-made products, formerly produced in the United States, by American workers. Please enlighten me some more, oh great and wise one!
Loughrey doesn't stop there. He says that "for Cummins to remain independent and successful, it must continue to attract the best talent." This means more Indian's with H1B visas. He saved the best for last when he implied that the inevitable outsourcing will be the fault of Columbus. He said " (But) Columbus can't take anything for granted." The community must continue to improve education, quality of life and to increase it's willingness to welcome people of different races and cultures.
Memo to Mr.Loughrey: There is only one human race, and I don't have to welcome other cultures just because you say so. Stop lecturing us on your idea of social correctness. You can improve quality of life by hiring Americans and increasing their standard of living rather than importing cheap Indian labor.

Eighteen illegal immigrants arrested at a poultry plant in Batesville will be processed for deportation, but will not serve any jail time for using fake Social Security numbers and state identification cards, federal judges ruled. Magistrate Judge Beth Deere and Judge James Moody of Federal District Court accepted guilty pleas from 17 of those arrested last week at the Pilgrim’s Pride plant. Federal prosecutors dismissed the misdemeanor charges against one man, but said they planned to ask Immigration and Customs Enforcement to begin deportation proceedings against him. The guilty pleas will give the 17 people criminal records, which will allow prosecutors to pursue tougher penalties if they illegally return to the United States. They had faced up to up to two years in prison and $205,000 in fines. Jane Duke, a United States attorney, said her office had no interest in seeing those arrested serve jail time, as they were “otherwise law-abiding citizens.”

Glaring is the joke of deportation. It is exactly what these invaders want whenever they are caught. It is not punishment. They will be back on their way to Arkansas as soon as the ICE agents drop them off at the border. Secondly, I hate to have my tax dollars spent to incarcerate people who should not even be in the country in the first place. But in light of the fact that deportation is not punishment, I would rather they had been locked up for the two years and then deported. The US attorney in the case is an idiot. The illegals never were, and never would have been "otherwise law-abiding citizens"! They began breaking the law the moment they crossed the border. They continued their criminality by stealing citizen's identities, and using fraud to obtain work. This attitude of "all people are generally good" flies in the face of reason. The judges and the attorney should be disbarred for their refusal to enforce the law. This justification of crime because "they just want a better life" encourages more and more moral relativism.

Lettuce pickers?

We hear the same, tired story over and over; this flood of people crossing our southern border are "migrant workers", here to pick our produce. Or the classic: "they are here to do the work Americans won't." In the not so distant past these held some truth. But as the facts bear out, this is not the case today. They come here to get good paying jobs at meat packing plants ETC, not to pick lettuce and tomatoes. The way they do this is by outright theft. They steal Social Security numbers. They obtain fraudulent documentation. Read the news! It's there in black and white, every single day.
Illegal immigrants are not coming here with the intention of helping America keep produce prices low; they are coming here to get all they can in any way possible. This usually includes breaking far more laws than just illegal entry into the country. Stop the madness!

In a side note, Sheriff Gorbett bruised himself with self-congratulatory chest thumping yesterday. The Republic set him up well with the story heralding the number of meth lab busts in Bartholomew county. I found this quote quite humorous, as it incriminated the Sheriff for exactly the same thing I've been saying of him about illegal immigration.
" I don't look at it as a negative. Other communities have said they don't have a meth problem; it's that they just weren't looking for it."

I found this over at www.freedomfolks.com and the quote Jake used was quite telling. I disagree with the article as a whole because it promotes a Darwinian view of humans as nothing more than animals. This viewpoint has led to atrocities by people such as Hitler and it divides us today. The article assumes that people of different ethnicty can never function together as a cohesive nation. I am using the quotes to highlight what is an insidious side of illegal immigration; the refusal of these people to assimilate. As I said I disagree wholeheartedly with the premise of the article.

Another point to observe: The food service industry must have some terrible working conditions and pay. Otherwise these businesses wouldn't need to hire thousands of illegal immigrants. Add restaurant work to the growing list of jobs Americans won't do. Maybe Americans really are that lazy.

Federal agents arrested 33 people Friday during a work site immigration raid in Chamblee.
Seven people were charged criminally and 26 were charged with administrative immigration violations, said Patrick Crosby, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office for the Northern District of Georgia.

Agents from the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies served a federal search warrant at 3245 Chamblee Dunwoody Road early Friday afternoon, said Crosby.
Four employment agencies were involved in the raid, Crosby said: Number One Employment Agency; Da Zhong Employment Agency; Ji Chang Employment Agency; and Sing Rong Employment Agency.
Crosby would not say what criminal charges were filed against the suspects. They are now in federal custody.
ICE agents previously busted Sin Sin Employment Agency in Chamblee in 2005. The couple who ran the agency placed thousands of illegal workers in restaurants in several states. They were convicted of conspiracy and fraud related to immigrant smuggling and were sentenced to prison

CHARLESTON -- State Police arrested nine undocumented immigrants Monday after troopers stopped a vehicle with expired registration on Interstate 64.
Trooper M. Napier of the South Charleston State Police detachment was traveling eastbound on I-64 when he saw a Mercury Marquis with an expired South Carolina registration, according to a release from State Police.
"Napier stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Antonio Garcia Olivera, 34, of Mexico. Not only did Olivera not have a valid driver’s license, but he did not have proper documentation or authorization to be in the United States from Mexico," the release said. Napier also discovered that the additional eight passengers did not have the proper documentation to be in the country either, the release said,
Napier arrested Olivera and Cerferino Gonzales-Vega, 18; Oscar Vega-Cavillo, 29; Daniel Carcia-Camacho, 22; Lionel Estrada-Alvarez, 35; Jose Manuel Gonzales-Vega, 28; Fransico Javier Olvera-Gonzales, 20 and Antonio Morales-Olivia, 25, all from Mexico. Also traveling with the adults was one juvenile male that was reported as being 17 years of age.
All of the undocumented immigrants were released to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers at the Charleston office.

The driver in this case might have been arrested in Columbus, but he would have been allowed to bond out. And what of his cargo of fellow illegal immigrants? Since Cloumbus has the proud tradition of NOT enforcing immigration law, would they have been cut loose to find their rightful place in society, doing the jobs Americans will not? I wonder.

Traffic stops nets $1M heroin bust

Indianapolis - A routine traffic stop ended in a $1 million heroin bust.
Metro Police Sgt. Paul McDonald spotted a pickup truck driven by 59-year-old Jaime Carrillo on I-70 at Post Road around 4 p.m. Thursday.
"It was going too fast, it was tailgating other vehicles, so he decided to pull this over," said IMPD Sgt. Matt Mount.
Sgt. McDonald pulled Carrillo over at mile marker 93, where the driver told him he was headed to Columbus, Ohio from California. That's when the officers instincts kicked in.
"Ran a quick [search] on border crossings and found this guy had come into Texas from Mexico through Brownsville and this guy denies it," Sgt. Mount said.
Police say Carrillo agreed to let them search the truck and that's when Sgt. McDonald spotted what he called "unusual welding" on the drive shaft.
"He starts knocking on parts where it should be hollow and it's not hollow and at that point, they got a drug dog there and the drug dog indicates on this vehicle," Sgt. Mount said.
After examining the drive shaft at the crime lab garage, workers cut it open and found seven kilos of heroin packed inside. That's when police say Carrillo came clean about his cross-country trip.
"This individual, by that point, admitted he had come up from Mexico," Sgt. Mount said.
Carrillo was arrested for possession of a narcotic and dealing. If convicted, a judge could sentence him to up to 20 years behind bars.

First of all, great job to the IMPD and it's heads up officers, and to the department for actually accepting the responsibility of enforcing the law. My question is this: would the Heroin have been discovered if Carrillo had been pulled over in Columbus? My gut feeling is NO. The police reports in today's The Republic reinforce my suspicion. A Hispanic man was arrested for DUI and driving without ever having received a license. He was released on bond! Our officers have been given the order not to inquire about immigration matters. According to the Sheriff and the Mayor, it's not the job of local government or local law enforcement to see that immigration laws are enforced. And so my belief is that Jaime Carrillo would be on his way to his destination with his cargo of Smack had he gotten pulled over by our local law enforcement.

An illegal immigrant who raped the mother of one of his children was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in prison.

The original story in The Republic said this on April 18, 2007

"A Columbus man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly raping a woman.
Angel Hernandez, 30, was incarcerated at Bartholomew County Jail on a 48-hour hold with no bond, said Lt. Steve Norman of Columbus Police Department.
Hernandez has been preliminarily charged with rape, a Class B felony.
CPD Detective Jason Maddix arrested Hernandez following a report of rape Tuesday morning at an apartment complex on the city's northeast side.
Hernandez and his alleged victim knew each other, Norman said.
Maddix requested a 48-hour hold, because police believe Hernandez is a flight risk with no ties to the community, Norman said."

Notice the distinct lack of mention of Angel Hernandez' illegal immigrant status. I checked for follow-up stories and found none. It would appear that if The Republic can avoid mentioning illegal immigration, they will.

Angel Hernandez, 31, a Mexico native, also will be recommended for deportation once he completes his prison sentence, said Bartholomew Superior Court 1 Judge Chris Monroe.
Here comes the best part of the story!

Hernandez, who was deported seven years ago but returned to the U.S., raped the woman in April 2007 while the couple’s 5-year-old daughter was present.
“You shouldn’t have been here when this happened, and you shouldn’t be here when you get out,” Monroe told Hernandez.
Another case of a deportee simply strolling back across the border and committing more crime.

Charged with rape and criminal confinement, both Class B felonies, and two counts of battery, both Class D felonies, Hernandez pleaded guilty in March to rape.
In return, prosecutors agreed to drop the other charges.
Hernandez, through an interpreter, said he came to the U.S. to find work and support his poor family in Mexico.
Guess what amigo? I don't give a flying monkey's bald butt why you broke our laws to enter the country! You are getting what you deserve and in 15 years I will be here to cheer when your sorry rear is packed off to Mexico. I'm not falling for the "I'm trying to support my poor family" routine. No crocodile tears for me, Pal.
The father of three children, two of whom live in the U.S. and one of whom lives in Mexico, said he wanted to apologize for the rape.
Criminal history
After reviewing Hernandez’s criminal history, which includes convictions of misdemeanor battery, driving while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement, Monroe said Hernandez has shown disregard for the safety of other people and doesn’t take responsibilities for his actions or care about the law.
I did a little digging at The Republic archives and found that Hernandez was quite the breadwinner, when he wasn't getting arrested for things like DUI, battery, assault, false reporting, resisting arrest. Yeah, I am glad he was able to come here and be such a benefit to our society and culture!
Monroe noted that Hernandez had been paying child support to the woman he raped but added that Hernandez seemed to think that entitled him to abuse her.
“It sounds like you think it’s OK because you were paying child support,” Monroe said.
The victim did not attend the sentencing hearing, but Bartholomew County Deputy Prosecutor Lynda Robison read from a statement in which the woman said that after Hernandez raped her, she couldn’t leave her house without shaking and feeling ill.
“I was physically sick with fear of retaliation,” she said.
The woman said she doesn’t expect retribution, but that she just wanted a feeling of safety.
Monroe said he suspects Hernandez will someday return to the U.S. despite his deportation recommendation.
Hernandez lived here for two years before getting deported the first time and has lived here seven years since his return.
“You obviously know how to get back into the country,” Monroe said.
The Judge gets the picture! I wish our elected officials starting with Mayor Armstrong up to the President of The United States would get it. Anyone willing to violate the law of the land to achieve supposedly noble ends, will be less inclined to follow the rest of the laws. America must stop this invasion, and we must hold the politicians accountable. Vote out anyone who refuses to uphold the sanctity of the Rule of Law!

ICE Arrests More Than 300 Fugitive Aliens

Illegal Immigrants Ordered To Leave Country, Failed To Do So

MIAMI — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials Monday announced the arrests of 330 fugitive aliens in one of the largest customs enforcement operations ever undertaken in South Florida.

The arrests — made during a two-week roundup in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties that ended Friday — targeted individuals who had been ordered to leave the country but refused to do so.

“Our message is clear: The days when illegal aliens in this nation willfully ignore immigration judges’ orders are over,” said Michael Rozos, director of ICE’s Florida field office.

Officials said the arrests are just a small portion of the nation’s backlog of immigration violators: about 597,000 total fugitives.

The numbers are so large that South Florida’s enforcement teams are set to increase from five to seven.

“We take immediate action,” said Rozos. “Our officers and agents are out there looking for that failure to appear (in court) that same day or the very next day, so we’re not giving anybody the opportunity to hide and to go underground.”

300,000 anchor babies per year!

According to this CBS story that's the number of births to illegal immigrants every year in the United States. All at the expense of the taxpaying citizens of this country. Are you sick yet? We cannot continue this insanity for long. I know they would never release the truth, but I wonder how many anchor babies are born at CRH each year? I know that at least 3 were born the same night as my son. The nurses were calling for more interpreters because none of the 3 women spoke a lick of English. It's an invasion people! Wake up and see the frightening truth. We are being overrun by illegals and they are using our resources at an alarming rate. How much are you willing to pay for health care in Columbus? Don't listen to the grand ideas of the politicians and how they are going to give you "free" health care. Nothing is ever free! You and I will be footing the bill. Mark my words, we will be working to support those who don't and those who won't. Expect the rolls of public assistance to be overflowing with more and more people who can no longer support themselves. A nation cannot tax itself into prosperity. And we cannot continue to allow a flood of people to flow unchecked into our Nation simply because we don't have the political will to say ENOUGH!

Let's see here, 4 named illegal immigrants and 10 other unnamed were found guilty of producing false identification documents. How many illegal immigrants are now able to obtain public assistance, jobs, driver's licenses etc? We know that this is happening in Columbus as well. This highlights another aspect of the illegal immigration invasion. With fraudulent documents these people can more easily blend into society and continue their criminal behavior. On the surface they seem legit but now it's far more difficult to determine their status. The argument that they just want to be "hard working, law abiding citizens" is a joke. They will go to any length to conceal the fact that they are in the country illegally. All the bleeding heart, moral relativism in the world cannot change that fact, nor justify this lawlessness. Try using the argument that you just want to make a better life for your family after you are caught robbing a bank, let me know how that goes over with the judge. I'll send you a care package while you are in prison.

Use money transfers to stop illegal immigrants

Mexican workers in the U.S. send an estimated $23 billion back home every year, typically in small amounts. Officially, these transfers are called "remittances" – just for some current perspective, it's more than Mexico's total annual tourism revenue, and until recently it was larger than their annual oil revenue!
Because of the variables and unknowns in determining the accuracy of these transfers, the official figures are estimates. And, because many of the "remitters" may be illegal immigrants and working here illegally, the "real" numbers could be staggering – maybe even two or three times the estimates.
Simple question: Why don't we put a bunch of smart people (including some economists, bank regulators and some federal and state prosecutors) in a room and ask them how we use this powerful bit of data in a way to reduce one of the main incentives for illegal immigration from Mexico?
Here's some of what they would want to know:
* Who is supporting these transactions in the U.S.: Banks, private currency exchanges, private individuals? Are illegal workers simply buying postal or super market money orders and sending them back home? Is part of a solution to require proof of citizenship to buy money orders and to keep track of who buys them?
If we could make the process for smaller transfers more difficult, we might be forcing the "system" to make larger transfers; therefore they would be easier to "see" – hence easier to prevent.
* Are illegal workers simply putting cash in envelopes and mailing them off to Mexico? It would seem easy enough to centrally accumulate these and "look" more carefully at them - using new sensors and technologies if necessary - and to divert these transfers in one way or another. If new legal authorities were needed to do this, we should be getting them from Congress.
One of our basic public policy goals in this exercise should be to allow the legal Mexican immigrant to send reasonable amounts of money to Mexico for a very low or even no fee – this to encourage legal immigration.
Another basic policy goal would be to effectively prevent the illegal immigrant here from transferring any money anywhere, hence removing a main incentive to immigrate here illegally.
In addition, as we are talking about a uniquely federal and/or interstate regime – some kind of negotiable transfer is ultimately being made by wire or some physical currency exchange is being made. This means we can most probably control it by comprehensive legislation, implementing regulations and aggressive law enforcement – and this could be just as effective as building walls and more heavily policing the borders.
Perhaps part of the problem is on the Mexican end, where we would more than likely discover wide scale corruption involved in the remittance process. However, this wouldn't seem to prevent an effective solution on our end, because the money comes from the U.S. in the first place, hence is subject to our control during its most important phases: The conversion of our currency into transferable units and actually transferring it.
If we were successful, the simple "loud and clear" message to potential immigrants in Mexico would be: "Don't come to the U.S. illegally because you won't be able to send the money you earn here back home – however, if you come here legally you can do it".
That's a very good message, and we should be figuring out how to send it – it's every bit as important as physical border security, perhaps even more.

MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Central America's brutal Mara gangs have taken root in Mexico because law enforcement is too busy fighting drug smuggling to go after them, a government commission charged Wednesday.
Some 5,000 members now are active in about 200 cells in Mexico, the governmental National Human Rights Commission reported, calling the gangs' rise a problem of national security.
"This is negligence on the part of the government,'' Commission head Jose Luis Soberanes said as he presented the scathing three-year study.
The Mara 18 and Mara Salvatrucha gangs are known throughout Central America and in some U.S. cities for their brazen tactics, which often include beheading their enemies. Many Mara members moved into Mexico after Central American nations began implementing tough anti-gang laws in recent years. Some travel through Mexico to reach the United States.
In the southern state of Chiapas, which borders Guatemala, 63 percent of the Mara members detained by authorities are Mexican citizens, indicating the gangs have truly taken root here, the commission said.
"They have become Mexicanized,'' said Raul Plascencia, a commission inspector.
Soberanes said police in Mexico are ill-prepared to deal with the problem, and in many cases don't even spot the gang affiliation of detained Mara members.
Some researchers say the gangs first formed in Los Angeles in the 1980s, attracting Salvadorans who fled to the United States to escape civil war. A decade later, after many of the members were deported for crimes committed in the United States, the gangs established themselves in Central America.

When I read things like this I want to scream! I feel like burning my computer and throwing it from the top of a tall building. Give me a freakin' break! I could give a rat's rear end how long you have been living here ILLEGALLY! Get out and don't come back. I dream of you moving back to Mexico. The only reason we don't hear these woe-is-me, give me some more free stuff stories, is because The Republic is mum on the issue. If they won't report it, people won't hear it. This entitlement mentality is sure to permeate the illegal alien community here in Columbus as it does elsewhere, we just don't hear it. Now if the Mayor would call ICE (when hell freezes over) to get this place raided, there would be much weeping and gnashing of teeth about how bad they have it. Why is no mention made of this criminal's immigration status? Hmmm? It's like I said before, our quaint little town is too wrapped up in it's delusional, PC-driven mentality which ignores the obvious to protect our trumped-up reputation. Mayor Armstrong says we don't have an illegal immigration problem. I guess when the Sheriff and the Police refuse to inquire about immigration status, and The Republic refuses to print immigration status, then the "facts" bear out the Mayor's claim. At what point did Mcdonalds become one of the jobs "Americans won't do"? I'll be 40 this year and have worked at various McDonalds in several different states. At 18 I got my first McDonalds job. It was work, it was usually fun, and it paid better than minimum wage. I was offered management positions continually, but declined because I did not see a career at the Golden Arches as my life goal. Over the next 10 years I often got part time jobs at McDonalds to help cover expenses. I did so while in college and when I was first married. The job never really changed so it was easy to jump back in and make a little extra money. McDonalds was the model that every other fast-food chain tried to copy. They were efficient, clean, and well designed. The food was consistent from store to store, and usually tasted pretty darn good IMHO. At some point They got away from the business plan that made them the envy of the business world. They started using microwaves to heat food, they destroyed the well designed grill area and replaced it with a first class cluster flub. What once took 2 people to operate, now requires a team. Take a look at the grill area sometime. They have people piled on top of each other back there and it still takes forever to get your food. Worst of all, it now requires a degree in Spanish for management to "get some more apple pies dropped".
This is the entire reason for today's blog. I live in Columbus, Indiana. Never heard of it? Don't feel bad, I hadn't either until I accepted a job here. It's a very nice place to live but over the last 5 years it has become overrun with illegal immigrants. I have started a personal boycott of McDonalds because I refuse to order my food in Spanish and I firmly believe that the stores in Columbus are hiring illegal immigrants. I make this claim without any real proof yet, but the signs point to it. When I see Hispanic men and women, in Mcdonalds uniforms, get out of their vehicles which have OHIO license plates, something is amiss. I didn't fall off the lettuce truck yesterday! A McDonalds job doesn't pay well enough to commute from Ohio. It's a well documented fact that illegal immigrants are using stolen identities to obtain jobs in pretty much every state. They also get vehicles titled in states that make it easy to scam the system. Sounds good so far! After all he's just trying to feed his family back in Mexico by doing a job Americans won't. Right? Meanwhile, McDonalds gets to keep wages at an unappealing level, and make mad money. Wink wink, nudge nudge. You and I know that McDonalds knows that these employees are in the country illegally, but the cursory check of paperwork looks good, so put 'em to work.
This is where the train starts to derail. What used to be a great first job for teenagers and a potential career with good benefits, has been reduced to a front for laundering illegal immigrants. Now that they are all squeaky clean we can go back to our daily lives knowing that all is well.

Gang related crime elicits fear in a way that an isolated crime cannot. Ask any good, law abiding citizen of Chicago or LA. With proper self defense through concealed carry or home protection, a person could reasonably ward off a single would-be attacker. But gangs pose the problem of overwhelming force. Why don't we hear more of these stories? I think it's because the truth would scare the ever-lovin' crap out of people. We like to feel safe. We like to think everything is peachy-keen. I'm here to tell you that we are not safe, and everything is certainly not peachy-keen. We need to be vigilant and see what is occuring around us. If you see activity that is obviously suspect, make the call. Call ICE. Call the police. If you can, get yourself a handgun and train with it. The police won't prevent a home invasion; they'll just do the paperwork and forensics after it's over.

I have wanted to do this for a while, and decided to jump in with both feet. My goal here is to draw more attention to the problem of illegal immigration, specifically those illegals who commit crimes. I also want to expose the politicians who coddle employers which hire illegals. I live in a town in the midwest which is overrun with illegals. Their own advocacy group readily admits that at leat 85% of the Hispanics in this county are in the country illegally. The Mayor swears that we don't have an illegal immigrant problem here. He is joined by the Sheriff who says that ICE refuses to place holds on suspected illegals arrested for crimes in this county. I find that absurd, primarily because the surrounding counties' Sheriffs all say that they have a good working relationship with ICE. Somthing aint jivin'.
Our local paper seems to have a decidedly pro-illegal bias. It shows whenever they happen to run a story about the Hispanic "community". They seem to support the Mayor's assertion that no problem exists, while the evidence tells a story completely contrary to the paper's stance.
I am here to connect the dots and draw conclusions from what I see and read everyday.
